Ministries
Wooden Cross Lutheran Church is organized such that our governing council and associated ministries can focus on several areas of growth simultaneously.  Below you will find a brief description of these focus groups.

Church Council
This group is elected and charged with providing continuity for Wooden Cross with the assurance that there will be no deviation from our Charter, Constitution, and contracts. All major decisions are handled through it. It is responsible for the operation of the church through the following ministries:

Worship - Music
Responsible for supporting the church annual calendar and selecting the worship music wihich includes visiting performers and musicians.

Life-Long Learning
To offer learning opportunities for members of all ages to nurture their faith in Christ and to prepare and motivate members to live their life and serve in Jesus' Name.

Fellowship
Responsible for assuring adequate opportunity for social events throughout the year, fostering a climate of hospitality, friendship and celebration, where members and non-members gather to share, eat, and have fun.

Heritage
Preserves accurate historical records of church events through pictures, audio, video, and written documents. Heritage records provide us with a way to remember the good things that have taken place.

Evangelism
Responsible for welcoming new members to Wooden Cross and making sure that our church remains an inviting and safe place to visit and worship.
Social Ministry
Responsible for putting our faith into action. This group coordinates and support outreach to Foss Retirement Home, Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas gifts to Hope Link, meals and financial support for the Lutheran Compass Center, Community Lunch program at Central Lutheran Church in Seattle, Habitat for Humanity projects all over the world, Lutheran World Relief, etc. We also run the “Adopt A Road” program and keep Woodinville looking good.
Youth-Young Adults
We have a very strong youth committee. They not only watch over the Sunday School program and plan youth events, but run the annual Youth Auction. This event raises over $25,000 to send our kids on mission trips and projects all over the country. This year our students went to the inner city of Philadelphia to restore homes and to Yakima to work with Habitat for Humanity. We now have a Director of Youth Ministries.
Stewardship
Responsible for educating the congregation regarding the gifts of God. We take seriously that old hymn, “We give thee but thine own, whate’er the gift may be’ all that we have is thine alone, a trust, O Lord from thee.” In other words, part of what it means to be an adult Christians is to use our time, talents and treasures in wise and faithful ways. The stewardship committee provides opportunity and inspiration for putting God’s gifts to good use through an annual stewardship drive and monthly updates in the newsletter.
