Great Women of the Bible Series PDF Print

During the months of May and June, we will be combining all the ages of Sunday School to learn about some great women of the Bible.  By studying their examples, we, too, can learn to walk in faith through our daily lives.

Sarah:  While cooking, cleaning and making cloth, she walked over 1800 miles, was given away by her husband, and had a baby at 90.  God was with her the whole time; Hagar: Had a child as a slave; was sent into the desert with her child and a bag of water.  God met her there; Leah and Rachael:  A great sibling rivalry and God was a part of it.  We can talk to God about our brothers and sisters; Esther:  A women who faced a king and saved a people; Mary, mother of Jesus: Young and unmarried, she learned that she was with Child; accepted the word of God with trust, though it could mean death.  Was with Jesus during his birth, his death and his resurrection; Mary and Martha: How Jesus broke tradition and taught women as well as men; Mary Magdalene: One of the most misunderstood women of the Bible, but one of the great leaders of the early church.

We will also be learning a bit of Hebrew and Greek just for fun, as well as grinding grain, making butter and bread, and then eating.  We will be learning how women and families lived in the Old and New Testaments.  As an added bonus, we will be learning at least the first 13 books of the New Testament.

We look forward to seeing you at 9:15 AM on Sunday mornings beginning Sunday, May 1!
