Worship & Music Introduction PDF Print
What’s involved with Worship and Music?  The answer is obvious, right?  One would come in on Sunday morning to church and the service would just flow, music would fill the air from the choir, instrumentalists and congregation alike.  It was all perfectly set in motion from the moment you were greeted at the door, to the blessing and sending hymn.  I had never really stopped to think about how the service was put together, nor what was really involved.  I guess I always thought that there was a big “how to” book that gave all the instructions; was I totally wrong!
Wooden Cross has various areas within Worship & Music that assist in the planning of the worship experience.  Our serving hands are welcoming, caring, helpful, joyful, dedicated and sharing.  These hands give their time and talent to make each service special. No “how to” book could give you that!  You would be surprised on how soon team members from all these areas begin planning for upcoming seasonal events.  The Worship and Music committee has already begun discussions on the Easter service – everything from music to flowers.  We certainly have not forgotten the Lenten supper and services as they too, are being planned.  Summer services?  Do we really need to think about it now?  I know it is warming up outside, but officially it is still winter.  Let’s revisit next month – perfect!  This team likes to be well prepared!
I hope my small look into the Worship & Music area has given you an idea of the opportunities within.  We would love to have new hands join us!
