Earth Day Planting Project

Our Blackberry Clearing Project began on February 27.  Tabor Teachout led a volunteer party to remove the blackberry bushes from the Wooden Cross upper grounds.  Youth and adults brought long-handled clippers and pitch forks and worked hard chopping down the invasive non-native vines. 

The April 24th Earth Day Planting work party continued to clear blackberries from around the swale in the upper lot. 

We planted native trees and shrubs around the area.  Thanks to everyone who helped with this project.   Stay tuned for more green garden opportunities.
