  • Green Team   ( 30 Articles )

At Wooden Cross, God is Green !!
Here at Wooden Cross Lutheran Church we want to do our part in caring for all of God’s creation.  “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.  The world and all that dwell in it!” proclaims Psalm 24:1.  God owns the earth…it is only on loan to us.  We are to be its caretakers or stewards according to the Bible.

  • Fellowship   ( 7 Articles )
Fellowship events are planned for adults and families, fostering a climate of hospitality, friendship and celebration.  These are opportunities for members of the congregation and new friends to get to know one another during fun, social activities.  Annual events have typically included group activities such as hikes, baseball games, plays, performances and special meals at the church or in family homes.
  • Youth and Young Adults   ( 0 Articles )
We have a very strong youth committee. They not only watch over the Sunday School program and plan youth events, but run the annual Youth Auction. This event raises over $25,000 to send our kids on mission trips and projects all over the country. This year our students went to the inner city of Philadelphia to restore homes and to Yakima to work with Habitat for Humanity.
  • Stewardship   ( 1 Article )
Responsible for educating the congregation regarding the gifts of God. We take seriously that old hymn, “We give thee but thine own, whate’er the gift may be’ all that we have is thine alone, a trust, O Lord from thee.” In other words, part of what it means to be an adult Christians is to use our time, talents and treasures in wise and faithful ways. The stewardship committee provides opportunity and inspiration for putting God’s gifts to good use through an annual stewardship drive and monthly updates in the newsletter.

  • Altar Guild   ( 1 Article )
The job of the Altar Guild is basically setting the Lord’s Table. A team of dedicated people make sure that the right paraments are set, the altar linens are clean, the appropriate banners are hung and the elements are prepared and set for the Lord’s Supper. This loving task takes just a few minutes each Sunday to set up and clear. There is always a need for more loving hands to join the Altar Guild team. Anyone interested in joining our team is invited to contact the church office.
  • Heritage   ( 0 Articles )
